League of Legends – Game Review

Hello Buypoe community!

I’m here to write a Review,report or critic on the famous game “League of Legends”. Quite fascinating really, since I expected someone to already write a review about it. Right, lets get down to business.

As many of you would already know, League of Legends is a multi-player, strategy and role-playing game all bundled into one. The game was made on the layout of the popular map mod “Defense of the Ancients” or DotA.The main goal of the game is to destroy your enemies headquarters or Nexus(in L.o.L). The creators of DotA made League of Legends to increase their revenue and improve the previous predecessor. League of Legends is currently free and, according to it’s creators(Riot Games), will always be free. Their main source of income is through the second currency in the game, Riot Points. These “Points” allow the user to purchase skins,champions and many more utilities such as changing ones name.As we are finished with the introduction to the creation of League of Legends, I will now continue on the direct gameplay of the game. Before the actual game begins, you get to pick one of the many champions in the game. Each champion is unique and has it’s own abilities which can either be a pro or con during the game. The great thing about the game is that, the creators(Riot Games) always creates new champions, meaning you will never run out of champions to try out.In each game session, you can either play a map of 5v5 or 3v3.Playing one game session rewards you with “IP” or Influence points and Experience. Influence points can be used to buy champions,runes and many other utilities. Experience is needed to level up your summoner account. Once you reach level 30 in your account, you are permitted to play “Ranked” Games which record everything. Now let us talk about what actually happens when you play one game session.I will talk about the 5v5 “Summoners Rift” and use it as the example.

You basically control champion you picked during the game as if it were you in real life. As you play the game, you encounter minions which you can kill to gain experience and gold. Experience is needed to level up during one game session and is important because the higher your level, the more damage you do,the more health and mana you have and many more. Basically, leveling up makes you stronger. Gold is needed to buy items, which we will later talk about.”TOP” and “BOT” usually have 2 players, whilst mid has only 1. The advantages to this is that, you will have one high level player in mid and the other 4 are safe from being “Ganked”. “Ganking” means attacking someone or a group of people without them knowing. Usually people gank when they have more players than the enemy group. For example, Mid can leave his lane to gank bot or top. This means that there are 3 players attacking 2 in one lane. While the number of players ganking is an advantage, it also means you get less gold and less experience per kill. Also, the player who was in mid could also lose lane control, meaning the enemy minions in his lane could push and maybe destroy his turret. Turrets play a huge role in the game because without them, the enemy could and probably will destroy your nexus, thus resulting in you losing the game.Lanes should always be monitored by the player because without lane control(Where the minions are on the map) you will probably lose the game. Unless of course, your team can destroy the enemy turrets without the aid of allied minions.
In each lane you have 3 turrets. Destroying the 3rd turret in a lane enables you to destroy the enemy barracks which makes your allied minions stronger. After destroying the barracks, you can destroy the last 2 remaining turrets which protect the nexus. After destroying the 2 remaining turrets allows you to attack the nexus and finally win the game.

Continuing, I will make a brief review of the items in League of Legends. Items differ from giving you extra damage,health or mana. Items can be bought with gold and all items provide an advantage against your enemies. Basically, buying items is a good thing.

Next, I shall talk about the Pro’s and Con’s of the game.

Pros

-Great Graphics
-Easy to learn
-Lots of players
-User friendly environment
-Always new things to be added
-Will always be free(according to Riot Games)

Cons

-Not a Newbie-Friendly game(Arguable)
-After reaching level 30, very limited things to do.
-Lag(Differs to everyone)
-Limited map choices (Currently only 5v5 and 3v3)-Constant ally Griefing (You will almost certainly argue with someone in each game)

Ok to finally finish this review. I know this looks more like a guide than a review, but I only explained so much so I can help New players get started. All in all, this game is
